These methods intentionally fail with explicit scope messages. Validated confint() / vcov() / profile() / anova() surfaces are not implemented. Experimental interval extractors (heritability_interval(), variance_component_standard_errors()) exist when the engine returned those fields; they are not coverage-calibrated. Point estimates remain variance_components(), heritability(), and fit_diagnostics().

Usage

# S3 method for class 'hsquared_fit'
confint(object, parm, level = 0.95, ...)

# S3 method for class 'hsquared_fit'
vcov(object, ...)

# S3 method for class 'hsquared_fit'
profile(fitted, ...)

# S3 method for class 'hsquared_fit'
anova(object, ...)

Arguments

object

An hsquared_fit object.

parm, level

Included for compatibility with stats::confint().

...

Reserved for future arguments.

fitted

An hsquared_fit object for stats::profile().

Value

These functions always error.

Details

Testing V_A = 0: the Wald SE and logit-delta CI are not valid when additive variance is near 0. The likelihood-ratio test of V_A = 0 uses a 50:50 mixture of chi^2_0 and chi^2_1 (Self and Liang 1987; Stram and Lee 1994). anova() does not run that test. logLik() and AIC() are exposed for converged fits, so a naive chi^2_1 LRT can be built by hand – do not. Julia HSquared.nested_lrt(..., df = 1, boundary_df = 1) already implements the mixture; that is not a new R test statistic.
